I don't care at all if I have to spend some money but I'd prefer it be on software, not external data recovery experts.

Test disk appears to see the actual partion on DISK 5 that I want to restore, but then gets confused that the partition is larger than the disk that it believes must contains it (which makes sense since it's a RAID partition - but test disk doesn't seem to understand what is going on there.Ĭan anyone here give me suggestions how to approach this? The thing is though, I haven't done it with RAID like this before. I know this is possible for single drives if they inadvertently lose their partition/file system, since I've done it before without much trouble using, I think, test disk.
While it's great that I'm at a stage where a degree of file recovery is at least possible, my true aim is to recreate the RAID setup and restore the original partition. I know this is going to be shit because stellar gives differing assessments of the recoverable data (30GB if I order my drives 5,2,3 - 48GB if I order my drives 5,3,2 - both of which are wayyyy below what is actually on the drive) and Diskinternals actually seems to see most files but isn't interested in restoring a partition - just in recovering files.

However, then stellar reverts to a full disk scan / trying to save individual files one by one through a laborious and extremely time consuming scan and recovery process. I've already run some tools, including testdisk / photorec / stellar recovery /diskinternals raid recovery.īased on my experience I'm pretty sure disk 5 contains the actual file system, since stellar recovery wouldn't see much until I suggested to approach disk 5 as the primary disk in its virtually recreated RAID array. I can't revert back to my old system (I sold it), but I'm pretty sure if I can just get the system to see the disks in the correct way, I should be able to restore both the raid setup and the volume that contains all my data. They are DISK 2, DISK3 and DISK5 in my current SATA setup. Now in my new system, the files are seen as 3 separate disks that simply contain unallocated space.

You can view the results for free even in the advertising version, which is very useful as you can check the data integrity and decide whether to purchase a license.I have three identical WD 8GB drives in my system that I used as a single volume in RAID 5 mode.(set up using EZ RAID on my previous gigabyte z370 aorus gaming 7 motherboard) Scanning a damaged array (full or shallow) is unlikely to be instantaneous, since raids usually have a large capacity, and the RAID recovery function checks even the most remote locations for deleted and inaccessible files. Then, in the new window, click on the RAID pre-mapped to the system. To illustrate the process, study this guide and start downloading and installing the adware version of the app on your laptop or computer first.Īfter downloading the application and opening the program, follow the instructions of the Recovery Wizard.
HOW TO USE RECLAIME FREE RAID RECOVERY SOFTWARE
Our RAID Recovery software is capable of recovering array parameters such as start offset, block size, member disks and data order, parity position and rotation. The tool will recover all files where possible. Free RAID Recovery is free and it can reconstruct most known RAID types, namely RAID 0, RAID 5, RAID 0+1, RAID 1+0, and RAID 6. The source of the RAID damage is irrelevant RAID Recovery even supports automatic identification of important parameters like installed file system, RAID controller type, array type, stripe size, disk order, etc. This application can create a disk image and recover your data surprisingly quickly and easily in a professional manner! The probability of returning data of any type and format in a damaged array exceeds 95% - this statement is based on 15 years of experience of DiskInternals in the field of information recovery. DiskInternals RAID Recovery is really the best solution to recover files from raids.
